EMCY together with Mravinsky International Competition for Youth and with the support of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg is organizing the International Festival «European concerts in Saint-Petersburg». The festival is held in Saint Petersburg since 2009 and takes place every 2 years. The main purpose is to present the artistic and creative potential of young talented musicians from Russia and different European countries to the public.
The Festival «European concerts in Saint-Petersburg» is a great opportunity for the young musicians who have already established themselves in certain competitions and projects to demonstrate their creative growth.
Between 9th to 11th November the International Festival «European concerts in Saint-Petersburg» took place in Russia.
For this special occasion two EMCY prize winners were invited: Maria Zaitseva (cello) winner of International Radio Competition for Young Musicians ‘Concertino Praga’ and Miona Topalović (violin) winner of International Competition for Young Musicians ‘Ohrid Pearls’. The girls performed at the final concert together with other talented laureates of Mravinsky International Competition for Youth.
From 17th to 20th November the International Festival «European concerts in Saint-Petersburg» took place in Russia.
Among the participants of the festival 2 EMCY prize winners performed at the final concert: Strahinja Pavlović (clarinet, Serbia), who won the Grand Prix at the International Competition for Young Musicians ‘Ohrid Pearls’ and Stefan Iliev (trumpet, Macedonia), winner of Competition of the United Music and Dance Teachers of Macedonia.
At the concert were invited to perform also the laureates of the X Mravinsky International Competition for Youth: Leonardo Chiodo (cello, Finland, Marina Beschastnykh and Dmitry Stopichev (violin, Saint-Petersburg) and the laureates of the XI International Competition for Young Pianists ‘A Step Towards Mastery’: Piotr Pawlak (Poland) and Simon Burki (Switzerland)
The concerts was held in the concert halls of St. Petersburg School of Arts for children named after E.A Mravinsky and St.Petersburg School of Arts for children, Frunzenskiy District. Live broadcast was held at www.mravinsky.ru.
