Results of the XIII International Competition in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz

The XIII International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz took place in groups Horowitz-Debut and Junior Group from November 18th to 25th.

Due to the restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizing committee decided to hold the event in an ONLINE format. 48 participants from 9 countries of the world – Belarus, Israel, Indonesia, China, Lithuania, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Thailand and Ukraine took part in the competition.

The Prizewinners of the XIII International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz are:

1st Prize and Gold Medal – Zhang Philina (The United States of America)
2nd Prize and Silver Medal – Chen Haoyu (The People’s Republic of China)
2nd Prize and Silver Medal – Fediurko Oleksandr (Ukraine)
3rd Prize and Bronze Medal – Koziak Hanna (Ukraine)
3rd Prize and Bronze Medal – Shao Ziyu (The People’s Republic of China)
4th Prize – Shimchak Anastasiia (Republic of Belarus)
5th Prize – Hurenkova Anastasiia (Republic of Belarus)
6th Prize – Shumakova Albina (Ukraine)

The Chairman of the Jury in the Junior Group was Oleksandr Zlotnyk a famous composer, rector of the R. Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music.

JURY PRIZES

  • For performance of a work by Ukrainian composer (B. Liatoshynsky. Prelude op. 44 № 4) – Anastasiia Hurenkova (Republic of Belarus).
  • For the performance of work from the repertoire of Vladimir Horowitz (F. Chopin. Nocturne in G major op. 37 № 2) – Zhang Philina (The United States of America).

SPECIAL PRIZES

  • Prize by Marian Rybicki, Artistic Director of Animato Association (France).
    Concert of XIІI Competition Prizewinners in the Alfred Cortot Hall (Paris), season 2022-2023 – Oleksandr Fediurko (Ukraine), Shao Ziyu (The People’s Republic
    of China), Chen Haoyu (The People’s Republic of China).
  • EMCY Prize for an excellent performance – Hanna Koziak (Ukraine)
  • Prize by Natalya Pasichnyk, Director of the Ukrainian Institute in Sweden (Stockholm). Participation in concerts of the Ukrainian Institute in Sweden, season 2022-2023 – Amelіia Ploshko (Ukraine), Hanna Koziak (Ukraine).
  • Special award of the Ukrainian radio. Studio recording for the art fund of the Ukrainian radio – Oleksandr Fediurko (Ukraine).
