Between 3rd and 5th of October another edition of the annual Prémio Jovens Músicos Festival went on stage, organized by Antena 2 and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. For three days, concerts and other initiatives took place in various spaces of the Gulbenkian Foundation, with free access to all who wished to attend. The Festival was the culmination of the 33rd edition of Prémio Jovens Músicos, were remarkable new talents, competing in various categories (solo instruments: clarinet, flute, percussion, piano, trombone and violin; chamber music and jazz combo) performed an incredible show.

The Prémio Jovens Músicos is an event with unique characteristics in Portuguese music scene, promoting and disseminating the work of young performers, but also for the attention it gives to Portuguese music, giving special emphasis to the work of national young composers.

As usual at this festival, they also count on the participation of some historic PJM winners, who we can listen to as soloists invited or integrated in the groups and orchestras that are associated with this event (Costa Cabral Youth Music Symphony Orchestra, Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Lutoslawski Piano Duo, Jobra Jazz Ensemble, Pedro Moreira – Two Maybe More).

The 2019 amazing winners are:
Ana Clara Sousa (2002) – flute
Cristiano Rios (1996) – percussion
Joaquim Rocha (1997) – trombone
Maria Reis Sa (2004) – violin
Rafael Kyrychenko  (1996) – piano
