Ohrid Pearls International Competition 2019 – results

The International competition of young musicians Ohrid Pearls has been held for 17 years on the amazing setting of Lake Ohrid. This particular musical challenge was able to bond classical music education with the local landscape and local culture.

Among all the participants the following prizes have been awarded:
First prize: Stefan Nedelkovski – North Macedonia, saxophone (Grand Prix “Ohrid Pearls”, Golden plaque & 1000€)
Second prize: Stefan Gjorgiev – Croatia, trumpet (800€)
Third prize: Justas Drakšas – Lithuania, trumpet (500€)

Special prizes:

EMCY prize: Rikardo Huna, clarinet

SOCOM prize winner for best performance of a piece by a Macedonian composer: Jana Kaevska, flute, category C

“Tomislav Zografski” foundation prize winners: Stefan Sedelkovski, saxophone, category C

SMUM award for best ranking Macedonian competitors: Rikardo Huna (clarinet), Sara Elek (french horn), Nikola Terziski (french horn), Monika Trajkovska (flute) and Stefan Sedelkovski (saxophone)

YAMAHA and Do Re Mi special prize (saxophone): Stefan Nedelkovski

Scholarship for the contemporary music masterclass Epoche f: Rikardo Huna (clarinet) and Sara Nikolić (flute)

EMCY is really proud of the success reached by these musicians and this competition and wishes to it even more higher accomplishments for next editions.
