Since its inception in 1997, the “Euritmia” Musical Cultural Association of Povoletto has been dedicated to nurturing young musical talent. One of its notable initiatives is the International Competition for Young Instrumentalists, which provides a platform for aspiring musicians from diverse backgrounds to showcase their skills. In 2020, the competition underwent a transformation, assuming the name “Gran Premio Povoletto” International Competition. This year, the prestigious event focuses on the trumpet, welcoming young instrumentalists worldwide to participate in an exciting competition that culminates in a grand finale held in the picturesque town of Povoletto, Udine.

The Gran Premio Povoletto International Competition offers a unique format that blends online elimination rounds with a thrilling live final. This innovative approach ensures that talented individuals from various corners of the globe can participate, overcoming geographical barriers and allowing for greater inclusion and diversity. The elimination phase takes place online, enabling young instrumentalists to showcase their abilities through recorded performances.

This online component not only expands the competition’s reach but also adds an element of convenience for participants who can submit their entries from anywhere in the world. The finalists who emerge from the online selection process will then have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in the captivating atmosphere of Povoletto during the live final.

The 2023 edition of the Gran Premio Povoletto International Competition shines the spotlight on the trumpet, one of the most exhilarating and versatile instruments. Regardless of gender or nationality, young trumpet players are invited to showcase their talents and vie for recognition among their peers. The competition is divided into two categories based on age, allowing participants to compete with others within their respective peer groups. The first category is open to those up to 18 years old, born on or after January 1, 2005. The second category welcomes contestants up to 21 years old, born on or after January 1, 2002. This thoughtful categorization ensures fair competition and encourages a high level of musical excellence among participants.

Enrollment for the Gran Premio Povoletto International Competition is currently open and will continue until the 30th of July. This provides aspiring young trumpet players ample time to register and prepare for this prestigious event.
