Zala is ‘a wonderfully gifted young musician with a real power of communication and complete command over the instrument. She performs with imagination, sensitivity as well as virtuosity and the temperament of a real artist’. These are the words of prof. Ioana Cristina Goicea, with whom Zala is currently studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

She is getting her bachelors degree from Academy of Music in Ljubljana, under the mentorship of prof. Vasilij Meljnikov and is also a graduate of La Schola Cantorum in Paris where she worked with prof. Violeta Smailović Huart and got a Diplôme de concert with a special mention.

She is the winner of the Ohrid pearls 2022 competition, as well as an EMCY prize winner, Young virtuoso competition in Zagreb, XI. Concours International de violon ‘Alexandre Glazounov’ in Paris.

Zala is also a recipient of an award for special achievements of the University of Ljubljana. In their words she has recently distinguished herself with several outstanding achievements. Among other things, she performed the demanding work of Ernest Chausson in a superlative ensemble with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Slaven Kulenović, demonstrating depth, mastery and virtuosity. In addition to her solo work and achievements as a violinist, she was actively involved and performed as a member of the Piano Trio under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Miha Haas.’

As a soloist and a chamber music player she has regularly given recitals as a part of Festival Ljubljana, Glasbena mladina Ljubljanska, Glasbena mladina Osijek, Academy of Music in Ljubljana and has performed as a soloist with Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Amadeo orchestra and Pro-Arte orchestra in Vienna. In the concert season 2022/23 she has won an audition to play Tchaikovsky Violin concerto with RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra.
