Svetlana Marenkova was born in Voronezh, Russia in 2004. She started playing the flute at the age of five. She studied in the Voronezh Special Music School. In June 2019 Svetlana became a student of the Central Music School in Moscow, Russia. Her flute teachers were Alexander Golyshev and Sergey Zhuravel. Svetlana graduated the Central Music School in June 2022. She is currently studying at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky in the class of professor Alexander Golyshev. Since September 2020, Svetlana has been a member of the Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yuri Bashmet. Since September 2022, Svetlana has been a soloist and concert performer at the Saint Petersburg Music House.

Over the past few years, Svetlana has successfully participated in several competitions in Russia and abroad, such as:

– Euritmia APS Competition – International Competition for Young Instrumentalists “Gran Premio Povoletto”, Povoletto, Italy, 2024 – First prize;

– XX International Competition of the Central Music School in the nomination “Orchestral wind and percussion instruments”, Moscow, Russia, 2024 – Second prize;

– VIII International Competition of Young Performers of Wind and Percussion Instruments “Siberian Musical Assemblies”, Novosibirsk, Russia, 2023 – First prize;

– V International Wind Competition named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, Russia, 2022 – Second prize;

– “Classic Winds” International Competition, Dubai, UAE, 2023 – Diploma of the Finalist;

– “Sozvezdie” Competition, Sirius federal territory, Sochi, Russia, 2022 – First prize;

– XVII International competition for young musicians in the nomination “Wind and percussion instruments”, Moscow, Russia, 2021 – First prize;

Svetlana performed as soloist with Yaroslavl Governor’s Symphony Orchestra, Vladimir Governor’s Symphony Orchestra, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Voronezh Symphony Orchestra and others. Participated as a soloist in Festival of Maestro Yuri Bashmet in Perm region, Russia, with String Quartet “Moscow Soloists” in December 2022 and 2023; XLII International Music Festival “December Evenings of Svyatoslav Richter”; VII International Forum of Spanish Art “Música Ibérica” in Moscow State Conservatory in March 2024.

Svetlana attended masterclasses by Sir James Galway, Lady Jeanne Galway, William Bennett, Lorna McGhee, Gareth McLearnon, Sarah Louvion, Ulla Miilmann, Michie Bennett, Zoya Vyazovskaya, Denis Lupachev.
