Sarah Strohm has been studying the viola since the age of seven at the Geneva Conservatory of Music (CMG) under the tutelage of Noémie Bialobroda. Her rapid integration into the intensive programme of the Conservatory enabled her to take part from an early age in various chamber music projects, under the direction of renowned artistic personalities such as Leonardo Garcia Alarcón.
Today, she continues her studies in the pre-professional programme of the CMG, while regularly participating in high-level international masterclasses (Lac Leman Music Masterclasses 2021; Kronberg Academy Workshops 2021; Cervo Summer Academy 2019), given by personalities such as Nobuko Imai, Lawrence Power, Máté Szücs, Jean Sulem, Antoine Tamestit and Tabea Zimmermann.
Sarah has made a name for herself on the international scene on several occasions. She recently won second prize in the Johannes Brahms Competition (Pörtschach/Austria, 2021) and participated in the Verbier Festival Academy in the summer of 2021. She has also won the Aims Foundation competition to perform as a soloist with symphony orchestra (Spain/Solsona summer 2019) and has been a multiple winner of the Swiss Youth Music Competition – SJMW Classica (2016; 2018; 2022).
Sarah performs regularly on the local scene, both as a chamber musician (with Garth Knox, Musée Barbier-Müller Geneva summer 2021) and as a soloist (175 years of the Bordier bank, MAH, Geneva 2019; Puplinge music festival 2019; Société de lecture Geneva 2021; 27 tremplin des jeunes talents, Sainte-Bernadette church, Annecy March 2022).
