Roman Sher was born on March 12, 2010 in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region. Since 2016 he has been studying at the Gnessin School of Music (Akhmedova Nigora’s class). He has won numerous competitions, most recently receiving first place at the International Competition “Nutcracker”, as well as the audience award and a special prize from Yamaha Music.

He is also a laureate of the Rachmaninov International Competition (Moscow, Gnesins Russian Academy of Music) – first prize, semi-finalist of the Vladimir Krainev International Piano Competition, laureate of the International Competition Masterpieces of Piano Music (Moscow)- first prize and laureate of the Vyatskoye International Music Competition for Young Performers (Vyatskoye, Yaroslavl Region), first prize and a special prize from Feurich.

Roman gave many recitals: the charity concert with the Young Musicians Live Foundation in Munich at the Nymphenburg Palace, the concert in memory of the victims of the Chernobyl accident with the Russian National Orchestra in the Vrubel Hall of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the concert of the project “Russian Seasons”, which took place in the concert hall of the Russian House in Berlin.

In 2020, Roman made his debut in concerts of the Moscow Philharmonic with a solo program, performed with the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Spivakov.

Roman is studying Composing in the class of Vladimir Dovgan.
