Mateusz Krzyżowski was born in 1999 in Tychy (Poland). He started learning piano when he was 6 under the guidance of Prof. Jarosław Kwas. He continued his education in Feliks Rybicki Music School in Tychy, then he studied in Karol Szymanowski State Secondary School of Music in Katowice. His Professors were Bożena Furmańska, Lubow Nawrocka and Sebastian Nawrocki. Currently, he studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of Prof. Joanna Ławrynowicz-Just. He has taken part in piano masterclasses, among others in Nohant, Krefeld, Hamamatsu, Lusławice, Krynica-Zdrój,
Duszniki-Zdrój led by such prominent pedagogues as Dang thai Son, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Dina Yoffe, Wojciech Świtała, Janusz Olejniczak, Andrzej Jasiński, Karol Radziwonowicz, Andrzej Tatarski, Olga Łazarska.

In 2021 he received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage – programme “Young Poland”. In 2015-2018 he was granted with “Tychy’s Eagle” scholarship in the field of culture and art – the programme led by the President of the city of Tychy. He also received the Marshal of Silesian Voivodeship’s scholarship, National Fund for Children’s scholarship and Jerzy Semkow’s Fund scholarship.

Mateusz has won a number of prizes at national and international piano competitions. His latest are:
– 1st prize in the 12th International Piano Competition “Arthur Rubinstein in memoriam”, special awards: Chopin prize, Szymanowski prize, prize for the best performance of concerto with orchestra,
– reaching 3rd stage in 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition,
– 1st prize in the 49th Polish National Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition organized by The Fryderyk Chopin Institute,
– 2nd prize in the 1st edition of the Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition in Katowice,
– 3rd prize in the 1st edition of the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music in Rzeszów,
– 1st prize and the special award from The Fryderyk Chopin Institute in the 6th International Piano Competition in Augustów,
– 1st prize in the 4th National Chopin Piano Competition in Turzno,
– Grand Prix in the International Music Competition “Kaunas Sonorum” in Lithuania,
– Grand Prix in the 3rd National Piano Competition in Trzciana,
– 1st prize in the 7th International Maurycy Moszkowski Piano Competition “Per aspera ad astra” in Kielce with the special award for the best presentation of a concerto with orchestra,
– 1st prize in the 4th Apolinary Szeluto National Piano Competition in Słupca,
– 1st prize in the 2nd National Piano Competition in Trzciana,
– 1st prize in the 11th International Piano Competition in Gorlitz/Zgorzelec.
Mateusz Krzyżowski has performed in many concert halls in Poland and abroad. He gave recitals in: Warsaw, Katowice, Kielce, Lublin, Opole, Wrocław, Rzeszów, Żelazowa Wola, Duszniki-Zdrój, Pszczyna, Tychy, Krynica-Zdrój, Sanniki, Gorzów Wielkopolski, in Japan, Germany, France, Lithuania, Ukraine, Slovakia and Hungary.
He performed with many orchestras:
– The Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice,
– The Polish Wieniawski Philharmonic Orchestra in Lublin,
– The Oskar Kolberg Polish Philharmonic Orchestra in Kielce,
– The Artur Malawski Polish Philharmonic Orchestra in Rzeszów,
– The Chamber Orchestra of the city of Tychy “Aukso”,
– The Orchestra of the Royal Capital City of Kraków “Sinfonietta Cracovia”,
– The Jerzy Semkow Polish “Sinfonia Iuventus” Orchestra,
– The “Wratislavia” Chamber Orchestra.
