Jan Schulmeister (*2006) has been playing the piano since he was five years old. He is a student of Bc. He was a student of Eva Zonová at the Elementary Art School in Kroměříž. Since September 2021 he studies with Martina Schulmeisterová at The P. J. Vejvanovský Conservatory Kroměříž.

Since the age of seven he regularly participates in national and international piano competitions where he gathers the highest awards:

-International Piano Competition “Virtuosi per musica di pianoforte” 2021 (Czech Republic) – 1st prize, prize for the best Czech participant
International Radio Competition Concertino Praga 2021– 2nd prize – Audience price and Award for the most successful Czech participant
-International Piano Competition “Great Masters Piano Competition” 2021 (Madrid, Spain) -Absolute winner awarded the Sergei Tarnowski Prize and the Award for the best performance of a romantic composition
-North International Music Competition 2021 (Stockholm, Sweden) – Absolute winner of the competition
-International Piano Competition Nordic 2021 (Malmö – Sweden) – 1st prize and title of laureate, Special award for the best performance of a romantic composition and the Special award for the best performance of a virtuoso composition
-2nd International Music Competition ISCART 2021 (Switzerland) – Absolute winner
-International Piano Competition Orbetello 2021 (Italy) – 1st prize

Concertino Praga International Radio Competition 2020 (Czech Republic) – the youngest finalist – 1st Degree Honorable Mention and EMCY Prize

He cooperates with many Czech orchestras such as: Brno Philharmonic, The Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonics, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra in Olomouc, Prague chamber Orchestra, Barocco sempre giovane, North Czech Philharmonic Teplice

He performed under the conduction of personalities such as Tomáš Netopil, Dennis Russell Davies or Jiří Rožeň.

He regularly performs with the Wihan Quartet, with which he recorded the Piano Concerto in D Major by J. Haydn and Piano Concerto in A Major KV 414 by WA Mozart.

In 2019 the PETROF Company offered him – as a youngest musician – a membership in its PETROF Art Family which supports and associates well-known Czech and European musicians. This company also enabled him to realize his two CDs.

Apart from these activities he performs solo on Czech as well as foreign stages. He also accepted invitations to perform at important international musical festivals – Prague Spring, Chopin Festival in Mariánské Lázně, Dvořákova Praha Internationa Music Festival, South Bohemia Festival, Smetana’s Litomyšl and Festivals of music in Prague.

Jan enriches his music education at the masterclasses in Czech Republic and abroad under the leadership of well-known Czech and foreign piano players: prof. Alena Vlasáková (AMU Prague, JAMU Brno), MgA . Ivo Kahánek, Ph.D . (AMU Prague), MgA . Martin Kasik , Ph.D . (AMU Prague), prof. Ivan Klansky (AMU Prague), prof. Nikolai Lugansky – (Moscow Conservatory – Russia), prof. Marian Sobula (Academy of Music Krakow – Poland ) prof. Philippe Raskin (Royal Conservatory of Brussels), prof. Eleonora Tkach – (International Music Academy Kiev – Ukraine).
