Hannah Friedl was born in 1998 in Vöcklabruck, Upper Austria, and started playing the clarinet at the age of 9. From 2014-2018 she studied at the “Anton Bruckner University for Music” in Linz where she received her clarinet lessons from Gerald Kraxberger while she still attended the “Adalbert Stifter Grammar School with special Focus on Music”. After graduating in 2018 she started studying at the Music and Arts University of the city of Vienna joining the class of Alexander Neubauer. 

She attended master classes with Rupert Fankhauser, Hubert Salmhofer, Helmut Hödl, Ferdinand Steiner, Antonio Tinelli, Christoph Zimper, Matthias Schorn and Johann Hindler. 

Not only as a soloist but also in the chamber music category she has won several first prizes at the national austrian competition Österreichische Jugendmusikwettbewerbe prima la musica. At her recent participation in 2019 Hannah was appointed the federal winner in her category by achieving the highest rating throughout the whole competition with 98.6 points. Together with the clarinet quintet “NA+5” she won the 3rd prize at the 2nd international Franz Cibulka competition in Graz. They were also amongst the winners of the “Fidelio” competition and the competition of “Musica Juventutis” in Vienna in 2019. Hannah was awarded with the Ratzenböck scholarship and the Edith Rebhan scholarship. In 2017 she got distinguished with the “Kiwanis” art award together with the “Trio Vinea” (clarinet, cello and harp). 

Next to gathering several orchestral experiences in the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Upper Austria, the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra or the International Orchestra Institute Attergau (organized by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra), Hannah also got the chance to be a soloist for the Symphonic Wind Band of Ried and the Youth Wind Band of the district Vöcklabruck. 

Several concert tours made her travel to countries such as Luxemburg, the Netherlands, to the Czech Republic, to Italy and to the Victoria International Arts Festival in Gozo, Malta.
