Flute EFFECT Duo

Flute EFFECT is a flute duo founded in October 2024 by Zofia Kryśka and Michał Szczutowski, following their enrolment at the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. Since its formation, the ensemble has actively performed in a variety of concert series and festivals, including Debuts of Young Artists as part of the “Sounding Corners of Łódź” Festival (November 2024), Young Masters of Music (January 2025), and a concert hosted by the Warsaw Music Society (February 2025), which featured the world premiere of a piece composed especially for the duo. In August 2025, they appeared in the Muzyczne Matinée concerts series, where they premiered another work written specifically for their ensemble.

Flute EFFECT has successfully participated in national and international competitions. Their achievements include:

1st Prize at the International Competition for Young Musicians “Ohrid Pearls” (2025)

3rd Prize at the 5th KraCamera International Chamber Music Competition (2025)

3rd Prize at the 4th National Chamber Music Competition“Duetomania Młodych”

Honourable Mention at the 12th Chamber Tournament in Bydgoszcz.

As winners of their university’s internal competition for the performance of a concerto or song cycle with orchestra, the duo will appear as soloists with the Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra in Łódź, performing Franz Doppler’s Concerto in D minor for Two Flutes and Orchestra on November 8, 2025.

Flute EFFECT performs a wide-ranging repertoire, with a particular focus on promoting the works of Polish composers. The duo works under the artistic guidance of Dr. hab. Ewelina Zawiślak, professor at the Academy of Music.
