Øresund Solist 2019 – results

Last 10th of March the Øresund Solist national competition has had its finale, bringing to light the best Danish and Swedish musicians of this year.
Since 2002 this competition gives the opportunity for youngsters to cultivate their talent on a professional level and to strengthen the cultural cooperation in the Øresund region.
The competition is open to string and winds players from 12 to 21 years old from Denmark and Sweden and patronized by the Danish violinist Nikolaj Znaider and the Swedish trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger.

This year the jury has distributed the following prizes:

Group aged from 12 to 16 years old:

Stefan Burchardt, violin (Denmark) 1st Prize, 8000 DK and  Talent Prize, 10.000 DK
Axel Borgqvist, violin (Sweden) 2nd Prize 4.000 DK
Harald Edin, double bass (Sweden) 2nd Prize, 4.000 DK
Annissa Gybel, violin (Denmark) Finalist Prize, 1.000 DK
Betulla Bur Pagsberg, trumpet (Denmark) Finalist Prize 1.000 DK
Emma Lörstad, whistle (Sweden) Finalist Prize $ 1.000 DK
Nicole Biegniewska, violin (Sweden) Finalist Prize $ 1.000 DK
Alberta Holmegaard, treble recorder (Denmark) Finalist Prize $ 1.000 DK

Group aged from 17 to 21 years old:

Nicholas Algot, First Prize winner and EMCY Prize winner, viola (Denmark) 1st Prize, 8.000 DK
Marcus Bäckerud, violin (Sweden), 2nd Prize,  4.000 DK
Max Pontoppidan, tuba (Denmark) 2nd Prize, 4.000 DK
Ditte Aggerholm, whistle (Denmark) Finalist Prize, 1.000 DK
Klara Kotarsky, viola (Sweden) Finalist Prize, 1.000 DK
Christoffer Kaltenbrunner, clarinet (Sweden) Finalist Prize, 1.000 DK
Astor Cortabarria, double bass (Denmark) Finalist Prize, 1.000 DK
Elin Körnich, whistle (Sweden) Finalist Prize, 1.000 DK

The jury who selected the musicians and conferred the prizes was composed by:

This significant competition gives the chance for young talents to prove their musical skills and move forward in their musical career. From here they can “leave the nest” and became international renown musicians; with Oresund they started and EMCY will take over in this valuable task.
