The competition is dedicated to young pianists between 6 and 18 years from all over Europe. It has 3 overlapping age categories (from 6 to 12 years, from 8 to 14 years, from 12 to 18 years) and it is dedicated to contemporary music of piano repertoire from 1900 to present.Every competitor has to play at least one mandatory piece. In the last editions this piece has been commissioned by the competition for every level to a French composer. In 2017 the pianists competed as soloists, and in the 2nd round they accompanied a choir (they received the scores as well as the recordings of choirs in time to prepare before the competition). The competitors could also decide to compete in improvisation (and win the “Special prize for improvisation”). The competition offers several international follow-up concerts for the prize winners.
