In the international scenario of the classical music competition, a place of great importance is reserved for the International competition for young musicians ‘Concertino Praga’. This competition allows young artists from all over the world to participate in other international challenges through professional sound recordings, based on the anonymous listening of the seven-member jury, composed of renowned world artists. The results are very objective given the strict secrecy of the candidates.
Recordings and entries are made by members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the International Music Council (IMC) and the European Music Council (EMC).
The competition culminates every year with a ceremony in Prague, where laureates defend their pride in front of the radio microphone and television cameras. Laureates also perform at the traditional South Bohemian Concertino Praga Festival, four concerts in the beautiful halls of South Bohemian Castles. The absolute winner is published by Czech Radio’s own profile CD. The organizer also offers concerts and educational opportunities to the laureates, not only during the year, but also in the years to come.
The Jury session this year took place on the 7th and 8th February in Czech Radio in Prague. The Jurors listened to 31 recordings in total in the following categories: Violin, Cello, Piano and Harp. The recordings represented 12 countries: Armenia, Austria, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Slovenia and Ukraine.
