With this call of the 93rd edition, Juventudes Musicales de España begins the celebration in 2019 of the 40th anniversary of its competition, as a historical contest that helps young Spanish talents to exceed in the classical music field. Founded in 1979, in its four decades of existence the JM Spain Competition has seen the best young Spanish performers play and has consolidated itself as a competent organisation for the detection and promotion of new talents. The Competition has also been able to renew itself and adapt to the changes in the musical sector, incorporating the new categories such as jazz, flamenco and early music, making the competition more accessible to the public and to the musicians themselves.
