The end of April had hosted the 14th edition of the Anna Amalia Competition for Young Guitarists, in Weimar.
65 young guitarists have registered for this year’s competition, creating a real international set to confront, compete and learn.
The final prize winner was Sara Celardo (Italy), but many other musicians had qualified in other categories:

First Prize: Uros Jačević (RS)
Second Prize: Jacob Kramer (DE) and Andrei Pitu (RO)
Third Prize: Olivera Ognjenović (RS) and Alexandru Păun-Mastan (RO)
Age Group II
First Prize: Urbaan Reiter (SI)
Second Prize: Aleksander Anioł (PL) and Jan Christopher Heßling (DE)
Third Prize: Jan Markowski (PL)
Age Group III
First Prize: Sara Celardo (IT) and Vanesa Iličić (HR)
Second Prize: Seung Hyeok Choi (KOR/ES) and Leon Jänicke (DE)
Third Prize: Daniló Kunze (DE)
Special prizes:
EMCY prize : Sara Celardo (IT)
Special prize for the best interpretation of a work from the classical period: Jan Markowski (PL)
Special prize for the best interpretation of the contemporary set pieces: Leon Jänicke (DE)
After such a success, the following edition is due: the 15th Anna Amalia competition is scheduled for 6-11 April 2021 (registration deadline 6 February 2021).
We can wait to see next year improvements and again new talents blooming at this competition.
