Marcel Cara

Marcel Cara is part of the finest tradition of the French harp school: his playing, full of depth and colour, immediately captures attention. Marcel is committed to exploring the harp repertoire and contributes to its expansion by producing remarkable transcriptions.

Trained at the CNSMDP (National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris) with Isabelle Moretti, and after receiving instruction from Germaine Lorenzini, Marcel Cara is a prizewinner of prestigious international harp competitions, including the ARD Competition.

Marcel Cara made his debut as a soloist in prestigious venues in Paris, New York, London, Tokyo, and others. As an orchestral musician, he made his debut with the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and continued to perform with the Aspen Music Festival and School (USA) under the tutelage of Nancy Allen, with the Verbier Festival Orchestra, and has since collaborated with various orchestras, botj as soloist and orchestra harpist.

Chamber music holds a special place in Marcel’s activity. He also recorded his first album, “Resurgence”, on the Paraty label in 2024.
