Smiltė has been playing the cello since the age of 7 and made her debut with an orchestra at the age of 12. She is currently studying in the 10th grade at Kaunas Juozas Naujalis Music Gymnasium. Her teacher is Asta Krištaponienė. Since the first grade, Smiltė has successfully participated in various national and international competitions, projects, festivals and masterclasses.

ACHIEVEMENTS:
Smiltė has won Grand Prix awards in the following competitions:
● May 25, 2025: XXII International Music Competition “Paolo Barrasso” Italy;
● April 24, 2026: 7th International Rimvydas Žigaitis Children and Youth Chamber Music Competition;
● May 31 – June 3, 2024: VIII International Young Performers Competition CITTA DI LATINA, Italy;
● April 29, 2023: National Young Performers Competition WITH LOVE FOR MUSIC (Su meile muzikai), Kaunas Tylos Music Studio;
● 2022: II International Vocalists and Instrumentalists Competition SONATA OF THE STARS;
● 2021: I International Vocalists and Instrumentalists Competition INTERNATIONAL MUSIC ASTANA, Nur- Sultan. 23 th and 24th National Balis Dvarionas Competition for Young Pianists and String Players, laureate in the vocational training category (2024) nomination for the performance of a work from the Romantic era (2026) and EMCY Prize (2026)

● 2026: XVI International Chamber Music Festival – Competition “Making Music with Friends”; Riga/Latvia (1st)
● 2026: VI International Competition “GIOVANI PROMESSE 2026”; Bergamo/Italy (1st);
● 2025: Raimundas Katiliaus 13th National Young Performers Competition (1st);
● 2024: VII Vilnius International Youth Music Competition PRIEMIO SCARLATTI (1st);
● 2024: II National Young Cellists Competition CANTILENA, Kaunas Juozas Naujalis Music Gymnasium (1st);
● 2023: IV National Aleksandras Livontas Young String Players Competition, Vilnius Naujoji Vilnia Music School (1st);
● 2022: V National Young Cellists Competition CELLO VIRTUOSO 2022, Vilnius Karoliniškės Music School (1st);
● 2022: National Young Cellists Competition CANTILENA (1st place and an award for the most beautifully performed cantilena) (1st).

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES:

● July 12–18, 2026: Kintai music festival / Masterclasses in violin, cello, and chamber music with cellist Gleb Pyšniak;
● August 7-15, 2025: Burmistra Academy – international master classes in Merkinė with cellist Romain Garioud (France);
● September 19-21, 2025: international “Orbis Musicus” masterclass with Prof. Josephine Knight (United Kingdom);
● July 31 – August 6, 2023: Attendance in Birštonas Summer Arts Academy, participation in masterclasses led by cellist David Geringas (International Symposium and Masterclasses);
● June 13, 2024: Participation in a masterclass with cellist David Geringas;
● 2022: Participation in an orchestra summer camp, led by Donatas Katkus;
● 2023 and 2024: Attendance in ORCHESTRA OF NERINGA YOUTH summer camps, directed by Darius Mažintas;
● June, 2021 and 2024: Participated in the International Juozas Naujalis Chamber Music Courses.

ORCHESTRA EXPERIENCE AT KAUNAS STATE PHILHARMONIC:

● 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026: “Naujaliukai and KMSO” with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra (conductor Karolis Variakojis, Dainius Pavilionis);
● 2022, 2026: Project “Muzika Pučia” with Kaunas Wind Orchestra “Ąžuolynas“ (conductor Jonas Janulevičius);
● 2025: International Competition “Young Musician” Round 2 with Tallinn Music Academy String Orchestra;
● 2026: Kintai Music Festival with the TASO Chamber Orchestra (Taiwan/Japan) / Artistic Director and Conductor Ching-Ming Lu.
