Benediktas Galvydis was born in Lithuania in 2010 and began playing the piano at the age of five at the Juozas Karosas Music School in Klaipėda. From 2021 to January 2024, he studied at the M. K. Čiurlionis National School of Arts in Vilnius. He currently attends the Lycée Français International de Vilnius, where he combines his academic education with continued piano studies.
Benediktas has taken part in national and international piano competitions, concerts and festivals. In 2026, he became a laureate of the National Balys Dvarionas Competition. In the same year, he won the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition “Piano con anima” and Second Prize at the XVII International Nikolai Rubinstein Piano Competition in Paris.
His earlier achievements include prizes at competitions in Lithuania, Italy, the Czech Republic and North Macedonia. Benediktas has also appeared as a soloist with the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra. His repertoire includes works from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and contemporary periods.
