Klara Borgqvist, born 2001 in Lund, Sweden, started playing the oboe at the age of eight. From the very beginning, she was deeply in love with the sound of the oboe. Recently, Klara won first prize in the Danish/Swedish competition Øresunds Solist (January 2022). She is currently studying her bachelor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
Her first encounter with the oboe was with Lisa Nyberg at the Lund School of Arts. At the age of eleven she made her first participation in a classical music competition, Øresunds Solist 2013, where she received the Danish National Symphony Orchestra Talent Prize. Furthermore, she has participated at the Polstjärnepriset competition at several occasions in the recent years, in which she has made it to the final round three times, enabling playing as a soloist with the Gothenburg Symphony.
Klara has participated at Barratt Due Young Talent program in Oslo and was during 2017-18 selected for the Nordic young talent program Papillion, where she performed solo and chamber concerts at Valdres Sommersymfoni. In 2021, Klara won the Swedish competition Bergslagsolisten, performing Strauss oboe concerto as a soloist with Bergslagen Kammarsymfoniker.
