The EuroRadio Youth Concert is held each year in a different European city in cooperation with the with European Broadcasting Union, a national radio and a famous professional orchestra.
This annual event is an excellent opportunity for highly talented prize winners of EMCY member competitions to play a live performance that is broadcasted across Europe through the EBU and regional radio stations.
On 4th November 2018 will take place the new edition of EuroRadio Youth Concert in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The prize winners will be: Thomas Kelly (piano, UK) prize winner of Pianale International Piano Competition, Milda Daunoraitė (piano, Lithuania) prize winner of International Vladimir Krainev Young Pianists Competition, Uliana Zhivitckaia (flute, Russia) prize winner of International Radio Competition for Young Musicians ‘Concertino Praga’ and SongHa Choi (violin, South Korea) prize winner of Menuhin International Violin Competition.

W.A. Mozart, Flute Concerto in D major (K. 314)
Prokofiev, Concerto No. 1 in D Major
B. Dvarionas, Concerto for piano and orchestra No. 1 in G minor
V. Bacevičius, Concerto for piano and orchestra No. 4
On 31st March the outstanding young pianist Philipp Scheucher, awarded at the Aarhus International Piano Competition played with the Romanian Radio National Orchestra , under the direction of Unai Urrecho.
He performed W.A. Mozart´s Concerto nr. 20 in d-minor K 466 at Mihail Jora Concert Hall
The EuroRadio Youth concert took place 25th March in the prestigious Mihail Jora Concert Hall in Bucharest, Romania. This year it featured the two amazing Prize winners Rennosuke Fukuda, winner of the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists and the International Competition for Violin Kloster Schöntal, and Fermín Villanueva, EMCY prize winner of the 2014 edition of Concurso Permanente de Jóvenes Intérpretes and the International Competition Young Virtuosos.
They had the opportunity to play a live broadcasted concert with the Romanian Radio National Orchestra, under the direction of Gabriel Bebeselea. The young and talented musicians offered the audience beautiful pieces from Henryk Wieniawski, Edouard Lalo and Franz Schubert.
Rennosuke Fukuda: “Of course before every concert I’m nervous. But I’ve been really excited to play in front of a lot of people since when I was child. And I like it so much when, after the performance, people applaud me. This moment is the happiest time. So I’m practicing everyday for it.”
Fermín Villanueva: “For the concert I mostly expect to enjoy the interpretation of the Lalo Concerto together with the orchestra and the conductor but mostly to feel the public in admiration and joyfulness with the music.”
In Bucharest, the EMCY Prize winners Alexandra Bobeico, Chiara Enderle and Yanfan Yang gave an impressive live performance with the Romanian Radio National Orchestra on 28th March. The enthusiastic audience was treated to pieces by W.A. Mozart, R. Schumann and Chopin.
Romanian violinist Alexandra Bobeico, winner of the first prize and EMCY Prize at the International Radio Competition for Young Musicians ‘Concertino Praga’ in 2012 plays Violin Concerto no. 3 in G major by W.A. Mozart.
Swiss-German cellist Chiara Enderle, first prize and EMCY Prize winner at the Witold Lutoslawski International Cello Competition in 2013, performed, Cello Concerto in A minor, Op. 129 by R. Schumann.
EMCY prize winner at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition, Yanfan Yang interpreted, piano concerto No. 1by F. Chopin.
