Winner of the 2019 Trinity Laban Soloists’ Competition, Noelia Cotuna at  19-year-old has been awarded more than 25 prizes at international competitions all over Europe. These include the 88º Concurso Permanente – Juventudes Musicales España, the 2017 North London Camac Harp Competition and in 2017 the “Suoni d’Arpa” International Harp Contest.

She started playing the harp at the age of six and then she began to study at the Professional Conservatoire of Music of Valencia with the teacher Ana Martínez. She completed her studies in 2016, obtaining the Professional Prize of Music in Harp and Chamber Music, and the Scholarship Prize of the RSEAPV. She was guest harpist of the Valencian Government’s Youth Orchestra in 2013 and was appointed principal harp at just 14 years old. Noelia was involved in Madrid Symphony Orchestra’s Proyecto Talentos between 2015 and 2018 and she is a winner of its 2017 Soloists’ Competition, which gave her the opportunity to perform at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid. She has recently been named principal harp of the Young Musicians’ Symphony Orchestra and a reserve for the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester.

Noelia made her concerto debut in July 2016 playing Dittersdorf’s Concerto for Harp alongside Valencia Orchestra and today she performs regularly as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestra player in the most prestigious venues throughout Spain and other European countries. She has appeared as a soloist at Proms at St Jude’s Festival, Harp on Wight Festival and Rassegna dell’Arpa Viggianese. Since she moved to London, she has performed with Trinity Laban Symphony Orchestra, Blackheath Halls Orchestra, I Maestri, Kew Wind Orchestra and London Graduate Orchestra. Noelia receives regular coaching in Early music with Frances Kelly and she has also taken part in masterclasses with Fabrice Pierre, Sylvain Blassel, Park Stickney, Cristina Montes, Maria Elena Bovio, Han-An Liu, Rachel Masters, Hugh Webb and Heidi Krutzen. She is currently in her third year of studies with Gabriella Dall’Olio at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and is generously supported as a Trinity College London Scholar.
