Maria was born in Moscow in 2005, and in 2009 she moved with her parents to Germany. She started her piano lessons at the age of six and a half, and only six months later, Maria won her first competition.

Since then, she has won prizes at numerous international piano competitions for young pianists, including “National Bach Competition for Young Pianists” in Köthen, “Small Schumann Competition” in Zwickau, “1st Young Piano Stars” in Königs-Wusterhausen and International Piano Competition “Grotrian-Steinweg” in Braunschweig. She was invited to her first solo piano recital at the age of ten. Since then she has given several recitals and concerts for piano with orchestras on various stages.

Maria is a student at the Musikgymnasium Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, which is a Berlin-based school for young talented aspiring musicians located. She is also a young student at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin where she studies with Prof. Eldar Nebolsin.

Her competition successes of the last years include:

  • 2021 – 1st Prize and Gold Medal at the Gina Bachauer Young Artists International Piano Competition 2021.
  • 2020 – 1st Prize and EMCY Prize at the 17th Ettlingen Int’l Piano Competition in Germany; (official competition-video)
  • 2020 – 1st Prize at the XIV Campillos International Piano Competition
  • In 2020, Maria passed two preliminary rounds for the Gina Bachauer Young Artists Competition 2020 as the only one from Germany and the EU. Due to the pandemic it was postponed for one year. Now Maria, as one of the 27 candidates, will perform at the next rounds of the competition in June 2021 in Salt Lake City;
  • 2019 – 1st prize and a special prize for Best Bartók Interpretation (in an older age group of 16-18 years) at the 6th International Béla Bartók Piano Competition in Austria;
  • 2019 – 1st prize at the International Aloin Baltic Competition in Latvia;
  • 2019 – 1st prize at the International Anton Rubinstein Competition for young pianists in Germany;
  • 2019 – Finalist at the Aarhus International Piano Competition in Denmark;
  • 2018 – 2nd prize at the 8th International Chopin Piano Competition in Hungary;
  • 2018 – 1st prize at the 7th Dussmann Music Competition in Germany.

Maria has participated in various music festivals and masterclasses with distinguished professors, including Dmitry Bashkirov, Angela Hewitt, Tatiana Zelikman, Zhu Xiao-Mei, Graham Scott, Juan Lago, Milana Chernyavska, Markus Schirmer, Nikolai Demidenko, Igor Tchetuev and others.
