Luna De Mol, 2002, was born in Ghent, Belgium. She started playing the violin with Fedra Coppens at the age of four. In September 2014 she was admitted at the Sweelinck Academy for Young Talent (Conservatory of Amsterdam) with Prof. Coosje Wijzenbeek, where she is still studying. In 2015, Luna received a scholarship to study at the International Music Academy of the Principality of Liechtenstein, where she regularly takes part in intensive masterclasses, concerts and other activities.

In 2014 she joined the renowned string ensemble ‘Fancy Fiddlers’, an ensemble that regularly performs in The Netherlands as well as abroad. She performed as a soloist with this ensemble and leads it since September 2017. In December 2018 Luna was offered a scholarship to start bachelor studies in September 2019 at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London, UK) in the class of David Takeno (Eugène Ysaÿe International Chair of Violin).

Luna won the Netherlands Violin Competition (category Davina van Wely) in January 2018 and was previously laureate of several other competitions such as the VLAMO competition (2012), the Breughel Concours (2014) and the International Grumiaux Concours (2016).

In June 2018, Luna was invited to participate in an exclusive masterclass with the reknown violinist Renaud Capuçon, held at the magical venue of the Chateau de Versailles in France. Furthermore, Luna had masterclasses with a.o. Simone Lamsma, Nadia Wijzenbeek, Jenny Spanoghe, Guido De Neve, Marek Kowalski, Vadim Tsibulevsky, Coosje Wijzenbeek and the Rubens Quartet. She had also the opportunity to perform with great masters such as Janine Janssen, Rosanne Philippens, Steven Isserlis, Julian Rachlin, Boris Brovtsyn, Ramón Ortega, Andreas Ottensamer, Tine Thing Helseth, Anneleen Lenaerts .
