Born in Ceuta (1993), Álvaro did his bachelor studies at Conservatorio Superior de Música “Manuel Castillo” de Sevilla with maestro Alfonso Calderón de Castro finishing them with honors. Later he studied with Lilya Zilberstein at Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena and Vienna (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien). Now, after finishing his Master Studies at Conservatori Liceu in Barcelona, he continues learning with maestro Josep M. Colom.

His musical knowledge has being enriched having lessons with musicians and important masters as: the singer Jorge Chamine (Musician for Peace by UNESCO), Marie-Françoise Busquet (Conservatoire de Paris), Dmitri Alexeev (Royal College of Music London), Boris Berman (Yale School of Music), Artur Pizarro, Michiko Shoji, Luca Chiantore, Ana Guijarro, Brenno Ambrosini, etc.

Álvaro has been awarded with several prizes and distinctions as First Prize and EMCY Prize at 90° Concurso Juventudes Musicales de España, First Prize at 8th and 9th editions of FIP Guadalquivir in Córdoba, First Prize at VI Concurs Internacional de Piano “Antoni Besses” (2019), Second Prize at III Concurso Internacional de Piano Ciudad de Sevilla “Julio García Casas” (2016), Special Prize “Jardí dels Tarongers” at 14 Concurs Internacional de Música de Les Corts (2018) or Mention of Honor at 48° Concurs de Joves Interprets de Piano de Catalunya (2018) and the scholarship given by project Music4Rom at Colegio de España in Paris (2014).

Playing concerts since he was child, he has played in halls and festivals in Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Sweden, Morocco and USA. He has been invited to play in festivals as Miami International Piano Festival (USA), Aurora Music Festival (Sweden), XXII SIPO in Obidos (Portugal), Music4Rom (France), Festival International de Piano Guadalquivir and Piano Meeting Ourense. He also has received invitations to play with orchestras as Orquestra Sinfónica de RTVE playing Concerto for two pianos and percussione by Bartók under direction of Felix Ardanaz and Joven Orquestra Mediterránea playing Concerto in Sol M by Ravel under direction of Michael Thomas. Among the halls where he has performed are Teatro Monumental (Madrid, España), Casa de la Cultura de Girona (Girona, Spain), Palazzo Chigi Saracini (Siena, Italy), Instituto Cervantes de Palermo (Palermo, Italy), Instituto Cervantes de Tetuàn (Tetuàn, Morocco), etc.

His performances have been recorded and retransmitted on television and radio like La 2 from RTVE (Spain), Radio Clásica (Spain) and Antena 2 (Portugal). Presently his career is receiving support and promotion from Juventudes Musicales de España, European Union of Music Competitions fro Youth and Associació del Concurs International de Musical Maria Canals de Barcelona.
Press and experts has cataloged his performances to be full of energy and emotions, having a strong communication with the public. His technical solvency, control and his personal and big color palette can be seeing in big and long programs with the most important works of the piano repertory. Pianists like Vladimir Ovchinnikov has acclaimed his playing, specially his versions of C. Franck and Ravel.

In April 2020 his first CD ‘Introspección: Franck, Falla & Ravel’ has been published.
