Aljoša Kavčič is a jazz pianist and composer based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He is currently studying jazz piano at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under the mentorship of Marko Črnčec, after completing his studies at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana.
He has performed at major festivals including the Ljubljana Jazz Festival, Jazzinty, Jazz Kamp Kranj, and Imago Festival, and regularly appears at prominent jazz venues across Slovenia and Central Europe.
Aljoša is a recipient of multiple awards, including three First Prizes at the TEMSIG National Competition (Jazz Chamber Music 2022, with a Special Award for Best Performance of a Slovenian Composer’s Work, Jazz Solo with Gold Award in 2023 and Jazz Solo with Gold Award and Special Award for 100 points in 2026), an award for original composition and big band arrangement at A Big Band Searches for Talent 2023, and the prestigious Škerjanc Award (2024), recognizing outstanding artistic achievements and contributions during his education on Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana.
He has collaborated with numerous ensembles and artists, including the RTV Slovenia Big Band, Smrdel Brothers Collective, Toni Lah Quintet, and musicians such as Primož Grašič, Nina Strnad, Jure Pukl, Vid Jamnik, Ben Tiberio, Kristjan Krajnčan, Boštjan Simon, Marko Churnchetz, and others.
