The Young Hearts for Music Tour showcases remarkable talent and musical individuality among its participants.
This year, Terézia Šuppová from Slovakia on flute, Klara Kotarsky from Sweden on viola, and Viola Asoskova from Estonia on piano, demonstrated an extraordinary level of skill, displaying their unique musical personalities.
Their ensemble demonstrated a careful balance of voices, creating a homogeneous body of sound. Despite their contrasting temperaments and characters, they challenged each other and coordinated flawlessly. Their preference unified their performances, with each musician excelling in solo pieces and delightful trio compositions. Each concert showcased a rich repertoire, revealing the musicians’ musical verve and emotional freshness.

Dear EMCY readers,
I would like to say how much we are grateful for the strong support for Ukraine we have during those difficult, tragic times. Thanks to every person, from all over the world, who is helping, we keep defending our freedom, our nation, our culture.
Since the Ukrainian-Russian war started, the “Veronika Lemishenko Charity foundation” expanded the field of activity by helping Ukrainian aid centers, hospitals, volunteers, animal shelters and many others. And of course we still continue to support art – because what is the future without art, what is the nation without culture?
Thanks to our friends from the EMCY, from the “Glowing Harp” and all the people who care, the “Veronika Lemishenko Charity foundation” has raised almost 24.000 euro during the benefit events in 15 countries: Turkey, Slovakia, Austria, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Wales, England. There were 33 recitals, 22 masterclasses and workshops involving 26 young Ukrainian harpists.
We are especially grateful for managing the education process for the harp students whose study was interrupted by war. Thanks to colleagues from the musical world, 14 students from 8 to 24 years old got a new place to continue their professional education in the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, France and Canada.
Your support means a lot. Your support does a lot. Thank you for standing with Ukraine!
Veronika Lemishenko,
EMCY Board Member for International Competitions

Dear EMCY readers,
Together with the arrival of the summer, we at EMCY begin our long awaited project days. The extreme heat weaves didn’t stop our young and talented musicians from performing all around Europe.
The Young Hearts for Music Tour stars enjoyed the audience in the small cities of Austria and Germany and on the other side of Europe, the ”Railways Brass Quintet” started their journey by train from Lithuania to Luxembourg where they encountered the ”Railways Strings Quartet”.
We had challenges along the way, but the joy of playing music surrounded us for the entire journey.

Dear EMCY readers,
After a bumpy start of the year due to the extended corona lockdown, it looks like we’re finally moving in the right direction and can hopefully leave the worst of the pandemic behind us, but unfortunately, the world is challenged now with a new tragic crisis.
Like everyone, we are concerned about the situation in Ukraine. We strongly condemn the brutal aggression and acts of war that touch so many. We want to express our solidarity with the people of Ukraine, our members and prize-winners, partners and friends, musicians and artists.

Dear EMCY readers,
2021 has been a very challenging year for the whole world. The COVID-19 pandemic has definitely disrupted education, to such an extent that we all needed to constantly adapt, to keep up with the digital revolution. New environmental disasters have stricken many parts of the planet, emphasizing the importance for governments to take serious actions into a green transition; social inclusion has proven to be a crucial aspect to guarantee a more stable, safe and just society for all.
Drawing the right insights from the world crisis is therefore key and we believe that EMCY projects can be a fundamental pillar in this process. For this reason at the beginning of the year we invite you to closely check out our work to help us grow stronger in 2022.

Dear EMCY readers,
The year 2020 was a particular year for everyone and will go down in history leaving profound impacts in our cultural sector. Many have made tremendous efforts to “reinvent” themselves.
Without forgetting the ones who have suffered, we are trying to see a silver lining on the horizon that gives us hope. Hope to think about the future, relaunch projects, and most importantly, live music again!
We hope you can share our hope and we wish you all good health, courage and loads of positive energy.

Dear EMCY readers,
We hope you all enjoyed this, out of the ordinary, summer of 2020 as much as we did. As all things, good or bad, come always to an end, with the start of September most of us have to go back to work or to school.
At the end of August, EMCY started an exciting project and one more time we caught a glimpse of the power of music. In order to set up a stage performance, a group of young people from different cultural backgrounds had to listen and find the “right tone” in talking to each other. Their passion for music and the arts in general, offered them a common ground and led to a ‘Musical Storytelling’.
Some of these memories will stay with us forever, but we are also happy to share some with all of you through this channel.
We wish you all the best and feel free to tell us your thoughts about the project,

Dear EMCY family and friends,
We know that all of you are passing a difficult moment and we are solidly united in this. For now we need to keep a stiff upper lip. With big regret EMCY, together with our great host Juventudes Musicales de España, decided to postpone EMCY´s General Assembly 2020, planned for October 16th to 18th in Madrid. The current situation is unpredictable and it just doesn´t feel right to push forward preparations and to make, as well as ask for commitments. But one commitment that we can make and loudly ask for European solidarity!
Only together we are strong and able to go on.
We wish all of you good health and energy.

THIS MONTH WE #actforculture!
It is once again time to defend culture within EU policy, and our all action is needed.
National governments and EU policymakers are currently taking decisions on the post 2020 EU budget that will influence the future of Culture in Europe. We are citizens and organisations who believe that culture is the foundation of European unity. It binds us together and underpins our sense of belonging to the European community. We believe that culture plays a crucial role in upholding common European values, nourishing mutual understanding among the peoples of Europe and fostering diverse and inclusive societies.
We decide to join #actforculture campaign from Culture Action Europe to call on the European Institutions and Member States to recognise the EU added value of cultural investment and translate it to sufficient support in the next EU budget.
