Now the categories for larger ensembles followed. A total of 503 first prizes, 742 second prizes and 658 third prizes were awarded. In addition, selected participants received special prizes with a total value of 180,000 euros. A virtual prize winners’ concert with video recordings of music contributions by selected first prize winners was held from the 17th of September 2021.
The Project manager Ulrike Lehmann said “I am very happy about the scope of the national competition ‘Jugend musiziert’ in 2021. Together with all those responsible in the Hanseatic City of Bremen, Bremerhaven and also in the Bremen State Music Council, we succeeded in a wonderful national competition under these unusual circumstances. We are very happy that we were able to hold the second part of the national competition as a face-to-face competition, albeit unfortunately without an audience. ”
