MOON: Museum Occasional Open Night 2024

The summer of 2024 ended on a very productive and inspiring note with a week-long intensive course for young musicians at the MOON: Museum Occasional Open Night 2024 (part of BRAND NEW project).
Participants from all over the world – Canada, Georgia, Switzerland, Germany, Lithuania, Croatia, Italy spent a week at the Kintai Art Residency, where they had the opportunity to spend time creatively, learn about other cultures, take part in masterclasses with composer Dmitriy Varelas (Canada) and composer and conductor Gediminas Gelgotas (Lithuania), and work together to compose the “Railway Suite” for piano solo, which will be premiered in Vilnius on 20 September.
The project culminated in a wonderful 2-hour concert that attracted a large audience. In the first part of the performance, the audience was captivated by the prestigious NICO ensemble, led by Gediminas Gelgotas. The second part of the concert featured works by young composers Salomėja Petronytė, Teodoras Starzdas, Domantas Balsas, Balys Švedas, Povilas Neliupšis, and Spiroski Angel
