In the late autumn of 2022, a group of youngsters from various parts of Europe gathered in Vilnius (Lithuania) for a unique project aimed at promoting inclusion and understanding. The activity “Let’s play together”, part of the ‘Musical Storytelling’ project co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, was designed to teach participants how to effectively collaborate with people who have different abilities.

The group was diverse, consisting of people from different backgrounds, cultures, and ages, but all shared a common goal: to create a more inclusive and equitable society.

Over the course of one week, the participants engaged in a variety of activities and workshops. They learned about different types of disabilities, such as physical, sensory, and intellectual disabilities, and the challenges that people with disabilities often face in their daily lives.

Through interactive sessions, group discussions, and team-building activities, the participants also learned how to communicate effectively with people with disabilities, how to adapt to different needs and preferences, and how to create an inclusive environment that fosters diversity and respect.

One of the highlights of the project was a visit to a local center for people with disabilities, where the participants had the opportunity to interact with people with different abilities and learn from their experiences. They were able to see firsthand the challenges that people with disabilities face, as well as the strengths and abilities that they possess.

At the end of the project, the participants expressed a newfound appreciation for the importance of inclusion and diversity in all aspects of life. They also developed new skills and perspectives that they could apply in their personal and professional lives.

The “Let’s play together” project was a powerful example of how people from different corners of Europe can come together to learn from each other, break down barriers, and create a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
