Since 2023, the cello competition has carried the name of world-renowned Lithuanian cellist, educator, and conductor David Geringas. Professional performers and cello students from Lithuania and abroad will compete under the watchful eye of a jury that has earned international recognition. The International David Geringas Cello Competition will take place on May 3 to 9, 2027. The competition is being held for the fifth time in Klaipėda, Lithuania.
Klaipeda Concert Hall
The Klaipėda Concert Hall will host the International Klaipėda David Geringas Cello Competition from May 3 to 9, 2027. The competition is open to professional musicians and cello students of all nationalities. Candidates must be no more than 30 years of age on the first day of the competition, 3 May 2027.
The International Klaipėda David Geringas Cello Competition is held in two categories – junior and professional. Junior category is divided into three age groups. Professional category has one age group.
