The 10th competition „Mladí klaviristi“ (Young pianists) took place on 10th and 11th November in Bratislava. The competitors were divided to 8 age categories. The repertoire included a composition of a Slovak composer or a piece written by Johann Nepomuk Hummel – a native of Bratislava, a composition of an European composer in different stylistic époque. The laureate of the competition is Ema Somolányiová from the 5th category.
Mária Slaninová was invited to the competition as a guest. She awarded the EMCY Slovakia Prize for the best dramaturgy to Alica Záhumenská and her pedagogue Ľubica Mikušová.
The 6th national competitive festival for young cymbalo players was held on 30th November – 2nd December in Bratislava. The competition took place in 7 categories. The pupils and the pedagogues from all over Slovakia came to Bratislava to compete and to share their experiences and enthusiasm. The festival means a significant contribution to the cymbalo pedagogy in Slovakia and attracts more and more interest to this amazing instrument.
The prize giving ceremonie and the concert of winners was visited by president of EMCY Slovakia – Mária Slaninová. She awarded the EMCY Slovakia Prize for the best dramaturgy to the young cymbalo player Kristián Kovalčík and his pedagogue Michal Paľko.
