Adam Znamirovský (*2010) began playing the piano spontaneously at the age of four. Since the age of five, he has been studying at the ZUŠ Jižní Město in Prague under the guidance of MgA. Markéta Cibulková. He first gained attention at the age of seven when he won the 1st prize in the Central Round of the ZUŠ CR student competition. Subsequently, he achieved victories in national and international competitions, often accompanied by special awards for his interpretation of compositions. Notable competitions include the Béla Bartók International Piano Competition in Graz (Austria), Virtuosi per musica di pianoforte in Ústí nad Labem, and Broumovská klávesa. He also performed at a concert for laureates of the Broumovská klávesa competition in the Suk Hall of Rudolfinum.

In 2018, Adam was offered participation in the artistic mentoring program MenART by leading Czech pianist Ivo Kahánek, organized by the Magdalena Kožená Foundation. As the only child participant, Adam played at the opening gala concert during the Prague Spring Festival 2018, alongside mentors from the program. He continued his participation in MenART during the 2021/22 school year, performing at the Prague Spring Festival for the third time and again at Smetana’s Litomyšl.

In 2022, Adam actively participated in the Summer Music Academy in Kroměříž, also under the guidance of Ivo Kahánek. That same year, he won the 1st prize and a special award at the Virtuosi per musica di pianoforte International Competition in Ústí nad Labem. In December 2022, he became a laureate of the Young Piano Competition of the Prague Conservatory.

In May 2023, Adam qualified for the F. Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth in Szafarnia, Poland, where he won the 1st prize along with two special awards. During the summer of 2023, he actively participated in the International Summer Piano Courses at the Prague Conservatory under the guidance of Milan Langer, as well as the Summer Music Academy in Kroměříž led by Ivo Kahánek, where he received the title of laureate awarded to the best students of the academy.

In September 2023, Adam achieved absolute victory in the Concertino Praga International Competition, held in the Dvořák Hall of Rudolfinum, performing with the Symphony Orchestra of Czech Radio under the direction of conductor Jan Kučera. He received the audience award, the Czech Radio Award, and the Karel Komárek Family Foundation Award for the best Czech participant. Adam is financially supported by the Milénium Foundation for young Czech artists. His victory in Concertino Praga also earned him a scholarship from the Karel Komárek Family Foundation. In December 2023, he was again recognized as a laureate in the Young Piano Competition of the Prague Conservatory.

In January 2024, he won the 3rd prize in the Béla Bartók International Piano Competition in Graz (Austria) in the 17-19 age category. In August, he was a finalist in the Eurovision Young Musicians 2024 competition in Bodø, Norway, where he performed the 3rd movement of Piano Concerto No. 2 by Camille Saint-Saëns. As part of the Year of Czech Music celebrations in collaboration with the Czech Center Vienna, he performed a piano recital at the Salon Bank Austria. He recorded his first CD in the fall of this year. He attended a masterclass at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels under the direction of Daniel Blumenthal. At the international competition Virtuosi per Musica di Pianoforte, he became the absolute winner of the competition and received the jury’s special prize for his performance of Mephisto Waltz No. 1 and EMCY prize. In December, he won the international César Franck Piano Competition and received the Special Prize of the Santa Cecilia Festival.

In March 2025, Adam performed Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini by Sergei Rachmaninoff with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum under the direction of conductor Elias Grandy. This year he was selected as a junior soloist at the Verbier Festival Academy.
