Eryk Koszela was born in Rzeszów, Poland. He is a student of Olga Łazarska at the Władysław Żeleński State Secondary Music School in Cracow. He has also extended his musical education at master classes under the guidance of such pedagogues and piano masters as Andrzej Jasiński, Andrzej Tatarski, Wojciech Świtała, Dang Thai Son, Dimitri Alexeev, Zbigniew Raubo and Alexandr Kobrin, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Ewa Pobłocka and Pavel Gililov.

He is a laureate of many piano competitions. His most important awards include Grand Prix of the 7th International Polish Grand Piano Music Competition – Festival Dedicated to Frederic Chopin in Vilnus, EMCY Prize for the best participant in 17th Peter Toperczer International Piano Competition in Košice, Grand Prix at the 2nd Competition Alternative of Polish Radio Chopin, 1st prizes in ProKosz Piano Duo at the National Music Competition of the Centre for Artistic Education in Warsaw in the Duo category and at the International Piano Duo Competition “Duettissimo” in Cracow, 1st prize at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Budapest, 1st prize at the 10th Halina and Ludwik Stefański Chopin Piano Tournament in Cracow.

He also received the prize of the György Ferenczy Foundation in Budapest for the best performance of a Fryderyk Chopin’s mazurka at the 28th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth in Szafarnia in 2021, was a winner in the Waltz, Etude and Mazurka categories in both editions of the Polish Radio Chopin Competition Alternative as well as awarded top prizes at competitions in Toronto (also in duo), Malaysia, Vienna and Ukraine.

He participated in the Gradus International Piano Festival in Aarhus, Denmark, took part in the PREZENTACJE concert series and performed with the European Union Youth Orchestra EUYO at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music, in the 20th National Piano Master Class in Duszniki-Zdrój, in the Bisma Bacewicz International Summer Academy 2021 and 2022 as well as Chopin en Vacances 2022.
