Finally we can start Surprising Stars, the online competition for European pop and jazz musicians. This activity is part of the GIVE MUSIC A FUTURE project.
The Stichting Musonia Foundation published a call for musicians (under 26 years) from all over Europe to make a YouTube movie that surprises! The competitors may play everything, except classical music: their own music, a cover or jazz standard on a surprising way. Online voting will be from 8 December until 31 December 2017. The voting system and real time ranking is at the website www.surprisingstars.com.
The prize for the best competitors is a performance opportunity in Amsterdam with the Metropole Orkest in the Netherlands , including travel costs and a fee. Dutch TV and national radios already signalized strong interest in streaming this concert.

GIVE MUSIC A FUTURE is a cooperation project co-funded by the culture programme Creative Europe of the European Union. It counts 8 partners of 7 different countries: United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Turkey, Lithuania, Spain, Luxemburg and Germany. GIVE MUSIC A FUTURE will promote young European musicians with performances in 7 countries, providing them essential skills to engage with different audiences all over Europe. They will leave the concert halls and take the music to places where you and I meet. GIVE MUSIC A FUTURE will turn youth music competitions into an interactive experience of art.
