Marlene Gomes is from Paços Ferreira, Portugal. She began her musical studies at 11 years old in the school musical band in Pedro Leal’s Class.

In 2010 she joined the Escola Profissional Artística do Vale do Ave in the oboe class of Hugo Ribeiro.

Marlene has participated in various master classes with Isaac Duarte, Ricardo Lopes, Victor Anchel, Samuel Bastos, Christian Wetzel, Thomas Indermühle, Pedro Ribeiro and Nélson Alves. In orchestra, she worked with José Borges, Andry Stepansky, Hugo Ribeiro, Luis Machado, Jaroslav Mikus, Francisco Ribeiro, Rui Leal, André Granjo, Luís Carvalho and Ernst Schelle with the presence of the soloist Leticia Moreno, Peter Askim with the presence of the soloist Teo Gheorghe, Christophe Millet and Octavio Más-Arocas.

She won the 1st Prize at the Concurso Nacional de Sopros do Alto Minho in 2013. In 2015 she was awarded the 2nd Prize at the Prémio no X Concurso de Música ‘Terras de La Salette’ in the Junior category and the 3rd Prize at Prémio Jovens Músicos in category of oboe, medium level.

She is currently a member of the quintet AdCanto and she is finalist in ‘ARTAVE’.
