Marco Rodrigues was born in 1998, in Vila Nova de Famalicão and he began his musical studies in 2010, in Artave, in the trombone class of professor David Silva. He has attended masterclasses with trombonists such as György Gyivicsan, Rui Pedro Alves, David Bruchez, Andreas Klein, Filipe Alves, Jarrett Butler, Hugo Assunção, Stefan Schulz and Jamie Williams.

Marco worked with the following Orchestra conductors: Luis Carvalho, André Granjo, Luís Campos, Peter Askim, Fernando Marinho, Emílio de César, Otavio Mas-Arocas, Rafa Albors and Ernst Schelle.

In 2012, he won the 3rd prize in his category of the International Contest of Terras de La Salette and the 1st prize, three years later. In 2015, he also won the Yamaha Foundation scholarship. In current year he won the 1st prize in his category of the 1st International Trombone Competition in Castelo de Paiva and also won the Larry Wiehe category of the International Trombone Association in New York at the Juiliard School.

Recently Marco won the 1st prize in the trombone category of the Prémio Jovens Musicos and also the EMCY prize, performing solo with the Gulbenkian Orchestra. Currently he is in the trombone class of David Bruchez in the Zürcher Hochshule der Künste.
