Julia Silvana Graf began her musical career at the age six and played initially the violin. Since the age of ten she has been playing the bassoon. She received her first lessons from Patrick Lüscher in Brugg, followed by Valeria Curti. Since 2016 she is a student of Prof. Matthias Racz and has been studying with him at Zürich University of Arts (ZHdK). She is also part of the talent program Musikschule Konservatorium Zürich (MKZ).

Julia graduated several master classes with Gabor Meszaros and Diego Chenna. She is a solo bassoon player of the Youth Symphony Orchestra in Zürich and is part of a bassoon trio.

In addition, she won many prizes including the first prize with the highest honors in the finals of the Schweizerischer Jugendmusikwettbewerb (SJMW) CLASSICA (2017) in a bassoon trio and the first prize and EMCY Prize in the SJMW finals (2018) in category solo.

Julia received a scholarship of the foundation Ruth and Ernst Burkhalter and was awarded multiple times for her musical expression.
