Eindhoven Lunchtime Recital

Every year an EMCY prize winner performs a lunchtime recital at the prestigious Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, in the Netherlands.

For 2019 EMCY has selected Pawel Miroslaw Wojciechowski, a young piano player from Poland. At the early age of 17, Pawel has already been a laureate in many national and international piano competitions and has been featuring with many renowned orchestras (Lower Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Holy Cross Philharmonic, Olsztyn Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kaliningrad Philharmonic Orchestra).  Due to his amazing talent, he is a two–time recipient of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and scholarship programme “Young Poland”. Last year he has also been awarded the EMCY 1st prize at the International Competition of Young Pianist dedicated to the Work of ‘Fryderyk Chopin’ in Narva, Estonia.

The upcoming event is going to take place at 12:30 on the 17th of January, in the small hall of the music center in Eindhoven. The programme will be the following:

  1. D. Scarlatti – Sonata C minor K.11
  2. D. Scarlatti – Sonata G major K.260
  3. F. Chopin – Etude op. 10 no. 1
  4. F. Chopin – Scherzo in B minor op. 20
  5. F. Liszt – Transcendental Etude no. 7 ,,Eroica”
  6. M. Ravel – Une Barque sur l’Ocean from Mirrors
  7. F. Liszt –  Après une lecture du Dante: Fantasia quasi Sonata.
