Keynote speaker wanted for the conference “Looking Ahead – New Opportunities and Visions within EU Funding for Culture after Covid-19”

Imagine, you find yourself on a green field and you will be the one to decide how to use it: Will it become a visionary project for urban dwelling? Or rather a rural community project? Do you plan to just leave it on its own? Does it need any further protection to bloom? Or fertilizer?
Now, use your imagination and go a step further: the green field is a metaphor for the European cultural and creative sectors. What is your vision? Protection, support, fertilization? What do you want to do with your green field? That’s what we want to hear from you!

What is Creative Europe Desk looking for?
A keynote which acknowledges the realities of today and the EU cultural policy but which is visionary enough to suggest a new direction. The keynote can refer to current discussions from the European CCS – such as Gender Equality, Green New Deal, Digitization, new MFF, New Agenda for Culture etc.– but this is not a must! Artistic input is welcomed. The keynote will be held in English and should not be longer than 15 minutes.

How can you become our keynote speaker?
Simply apply for it by sending a short description of your personal background and sketch your idea for the keynote (max. 1 page or video max. 2  minutes) to Lea Stöver (stoever@ced-kultur.eu). Please attach one reference (YouTube link, conference programme, reference letter etc.) which shows that you already presented in English. Deadline is September 6th.

How will the keynote be held?
The conference will take place on October 8th between 16:30 to 19:30h (CET) in Bonn, Germany. The event will be streamed and addresses national and local policy makers and cultural operators from Europe. If possible, the keynote will be presented on the spot but can also be recorded beforehand. Remuneration is upon negotiation.

What is the conference about?
On the eve of the new MFF and on the occasion of the German EU council’s presidency, we want to talk about visions and how to use the moment of a crisis to think about new directions and concepts. We organise the conference “Looking Ahead – New Opportunities and Visions within EU Funding for Culture after Covid-19”. It will bring together experts from Europe and focus on the support measures during and after Covid-19 but also on the new programme cycle, especially focusing on Creative Europe, Horizon Europe and the European Structural Funds.
