The international interpretation competition OSTRACIZED MUSIC is a biennial event that started twenty years ago.

The aim of the competition is to publicise those modern musicians who have been victims of Nazi regime and to play their forbidden and forgotten works. It is crucial and unique in Germany that the focus is not only on research, but also on artistic-pedagogical work.

Another goal is to network and create access to the archive of ostracized composers in Schwerin. This remarkable collection of around 700 scores and manuscripts is constantly being expanded and is available for study and research purposes.
