Tsonyo Tsvetkov was born in 1998 in Burgas (Bulgaria). He is currently studying percussion in the class of Plamen Todorov at the National School of Music ‘Lubomir Pipkov’ in Sofia.

He has participated regularly in master classes with professors including, Nebojsa Zivkovic, Thomas Lang, Ismael Barrios, Johannes Bohun, Mamadou Diabate, Claus Hessler, Anders Holdar, Philipp Kopmayer, Roland Neffe, Timm Pieper, Bernhard Richter, Claudio Spieler, Dudu Tucci, Craig Blundell, Svet Stoyanov, Tatyana Koleva, Stoyan Yankulov, Liliana Yoncheva and Williams Comberbache. In 2013 he participated at the International Austrian Percussion Camp in Ossiach.

Since 2008, Tsonyo has been a laureate in many national and international competitions, winning 1st prize at the National Competition ‘Svetoslav Obretenov’ (2008), International Competition for Percussion Instruments ‘PENDIM’ (2009), International Competition ‘Wiener Klang’ (2012) and the International Competition ‘Music and Earth’ (2015). He is also 3rd prize laureate, prize for composition and special prize winner at the International Competition ‘Music and Earth (2010, 2014) and 2nd prize at the International Competition ‘Young Virtuosos’ (2015).

Tsonyo has recorded as a soloist and as a member of a chamber ensemble with the Bulgarian National Television, Bulgarian National Radio and has also played as a soloist in a film about percussion instruments in Bulgaria on MEZZO TV. He also took part in TV shows with Dimitar Tsonev and Marta Vachkova.

Tsonyo has been a soloist with the Classic FM Orchestra. He has worked with the conductors Grigor Palikarov and Deyan Pavlov. In 2013, he gave private concerts in Sofia and Paris.
