Sophie Pardatscher was born in Merano (Italy) on 02.07.1998. She started playing the clarinet in 2006 with the teacher Werner Mayr. Since 2014 she studied at the “Conservatoire Claudio Monteverdi” in Bolzano with Prof. Roberto Gander. Sophie graduated from the college Realgymnasium Bozen in 2017.

Sophie participated for the first time at the competition „Prima la musica“ (Austria) in 2009, since then every year (as a soloist and in different ensembles). Every year she got to the final round and won 7 first prices in the finals. In the finals of “Prima la musica 2017” she won with 25/25 points. In 2014 Sophie played with the “European Jazz and Pop Orchestra” and in 2014/2015 she was the 1st solo clarinetist of the “Youth Symphony Orchestra of Southtyrol”. Since 2015 she is a member of the “Symphonic Winds”, the elite wind orchestra of Southtyrol, and since 2016 Sophie is the concert master (1st solo clarinet) of the “Southtyrolean Youth Wind Orchestra”.

In 2016 Sophie participated to a masterclass with Backunartist Corrado Giuffredi in Bolzano. She met him again in a masterclass at the “Backun International Clarinet Competition and Event” in March 2017 in Nashville (Tennessee - USA), where she reached the semifinal round. In July 2017 Sophie joined a one week long masterclass with Wenzel Fuchs (Principal Clarinet of the Berlin Philharmonic).

Sophie played as a soloist with different orchestras, inter alia with the orchestra of the Conservatoire Claudio Monteverdi in autumn 2016.
