Ilya Izmaylov was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1998. He began to study music in St. Petersburg at age five, first on piano. When he was six he entered violoncello class of Associate Professor Alexei Vasiliev in Special Music School (college) of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N. Rimsky-Korsakov. Now he continues his studies in the St.Petersburg Conservatory.

Ilya is diplomant of international competition Heran Violoncello Competition (Usti nad Orlici, Czech Republic, 2011), prizewinner of the International Competition of Performing Arts "St. Petersburg Christmas Assembly" in the "chamber ensemble" category (St. Petersburg, 2011), 1st prize laureate of the Stockholm International Music Competition in two categories - "Solo Performance" and "chamber ensemble " as well (Stockholm, Sweden , 2012)

Ilya Izmaylov also took part of International Festivals such like “Forum CLASSICA Festival” (St. Petersburg, Russia), International Harp Festivals in Moscow and the International Chamber Music Festival «In Corpore» in Tallinn, Estonia. He also took part in Verbier Music Camps 2014 and 2015 and he is a prize winner of International Mravinsky Competition (St.Petersburg, 2016)

He took part in Master-Classes with Jens Peter Maintz, Peter Bruns, David Geringas, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, etc.

Ilya appears constantly as a soloist and in chamber ensembles in Russia, Estonia, Izrael, Slovenia, and Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
