The Duo Jeux d'Anches was formed in October 2009 in San Sebastián (Spain), among colleagues and friends who are dedicated to the same profession, who share the same tendencies, and who strive toward similar goals.

The formation was named after a musical term which in translation means 'reeds play'. A very well-known composition by Magnus Lindberg bears the same title. This musical term was also used by composer Cesar Frank to describe the way sound is created on reed instruments.

The original idea of the formation was to fathom the possibilities of this not so traditional duo. It was their wish to expand the accordion duo and to show the whole range of possibilities available for this formation.

So far, the duo has appeared in Spain, in concert halls such as Cursal in San Sebastián, Teatro Municipal de Albacete, Teatro Monumental in Madrid, Palau de la Música de Barcelona, Sala de BBK in Bilbao and Auditorio de Fundación Juan & March in Madrid.

In this relatively short time-span of its current existence, the Duo Jeux d'Anches has won awards at numerous contests in chamber music for all instruments in Spain. At the 'Concurso Permanente de Jóvenes Intérpretes' de Juventudes Musicales de España it received the EMCY Prize additionally. Furthermore, the duo became 2nd Prize winner at the Chamber Music Competition 'Teodoro Ballo' in Zaragoza, the Concurso de Música de Cámara Ecoparque de Trasmiera (CMCET) in Arnuero and the International Music Competition Maria Canals at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona. Twice it was chosen by the jury for the promotional tour at the Chamber Music Competition 'Paper de Música' in Barcelona and the 'Caja Madrid' Competition.
