Duo Celliano was formed in 2011 especially for the Ungdommens Musikkmesterskap (Norwegian Music Competition for Youth) where it participated successfully winning 1st Prize.
Its success will be continued through further concerts and performances including the Allegromosso –European Youth Music Festival of the European Music Schools Union (EMU) 2012 in Emilia Romagna (Italy) arranged by EMCY.
Julia Xia started playing cello at the age of seven studying with Dag Øystein Berger at the Barratt Due Institute of Music. From the age of 10 until now, she has continued her studies with Tove Sinding Larsen.
In 2010 and 2011 she was awarded 1st prizes at the Spare Olsen Competition in her age category. Furthermore, she participated successfully in the Ungdommens Musikkmesterskap (Norwegian Music Competition for Youth) receiving two 1st prizes as a soloist and together with pianist Vivian Louise Tsui as Duo Celliano with which she also won 1st prize in 2011.
In addition to her successes at competitions she also participated in master classes with professors such as Vladan Koci and Nick Jones. Furthermore, she obtained concert experiences both at home and abroad in Norway, Poland, Malta and Czech Republic. In fall 2011 she gave a concert with the Oslo Symphony Orchestra.
Vivian Louise Tsui started playing piano at the age of six with Prof. Tatjana Tun as her teacher. Currently she is studying under Prof. Einar Steen Nøkleberg at the Norwegian Academy of Music taking part at the Academy's talent development programme 'Young Musician' (TUP).
In 2009 she was awarded 1st Prize at the Ungdommens Musikkmesterskap (Norwegian Music Competition for Youth) as a soloist and in 2011 together with cellist Julia Xia as Duo Celliano. Furthermore, Vivian has participated in master classes with Eliane Rodrigues, Håkon Austbø, Liv Glaser and Itamar Golan.
Vivian has also given numerous solo and chamber concerts and has been engaged by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporations several times for solo performances.
