Dominykas Meištas has been studying piano at the Kaunas First Music School since 2007. He is currently completing his tenth year of piano in the class of E. Matulioniene.

Since 2008, Dominykas has participated in national and international music competitions where he has won numerous prizes, including:

The grand prize at the ‘Young Piano Leaders’ competition in Lituania (2013) and the International competition ‘Olimpo musicale’ in Prienai (Lithuania) (2014).

First prizes at the W.A. Mozart Piano Competition in Rome (2008); the International Simone Delbert-Fervier Piano Competition in Nice (France) (2009); the International Piano Competition in Capdepera in Mallorca (Spain), along with a special audience prize (2010); the Republican Piano Duo Music Competition in Panevežys (Lithuania) (2011), he was awarded third prize in (2009); the International Gianluca Campochiaro International Competition in Pedara (Italy), including first prize in the piano four-hands category with Adrija Čaplikaitė (2011); the International Marco Fortini Piano Competition in Bologna (Italy) in the piano four-hand category with Adrija Čaplikaitė, second prize in the solo category (2011); the International Chamber Music Competition in Riga (2012); the International Youth Musicians Festival Competition ‘Music Through Europe’ Lithuania-Italy in Vilinius with K. Bučiūnas,  flute (2012); the International Piano Competition ‘Riviera dei fiori’ in Sanremo (Italy) both in the solo and piano duo category with Adrija Čaplikaitė (2013); the International Chamber Music Competition ‘Music Bridges 2014’ in Lithuania with L. Jakelytė, viola (2014); and the San Sebástian City International Piano Competition (2015).

Various other prizes at the A. Scriabin Piano Competition in France (2009); Republican Piano Ensemble Festival in Elektrènai (Lithuania) (2009, 2011), with a special award for the best performance of a classical piece (2009); the International Competition ‘Sonorum 2011’ in Kaunas (Lithuania); the International Chamber Music Competition ‘Music Watercolour Anykščiai’ in Lithuania with K. Bučiūnas, flute (2012); and the International ‘Il Pozzolino’ Piano Competition in Seregno (Italy) (2013); and the International Competition for Young Pianists in Tunis where he won the special jury prize for the best interpretation of a Prelude and Fugue of J.S. Bach (2014).

Dominykas has participated in the International Festival ‘Young Musicians 2010 Kaunas’ with the Kaunas Philharmonic and performed a piano four-hands with Adrija Čaplikaitė and the VDU philharmonic orchestra, conducted by R. Bliškevičius.

Furthermore, he has received an honorary mention from the President of the Republic of Lithuania in 2012 and medals from the Kaunas mayor in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
