Competition of Young Spanish Musicians in Malaga


Last week in Malaga, Spain, was celebrated the Competition of Young Spainsh Musicians in modalities of chamber music, harp and singing with piano accompaniment. The jury was headed by composer Carlos Cruz de Castro and included maestros in different disciplines.

In the competition 62 musicians performed and here you find a list of all prize winners.

The winners in the category chamber music, the Quarteto "Klimt", offered an excellent version of the quartet "Death and the Maiden" by Schubert that guaranteed them the first prize. The second prize was awarded to the wind Quintet "Da Cap" and their virtuose performance.

In the category singing Sebastian Peris i Marco was awarded the first prize, who gave an outstanding performance of Mozart and Wagner. Surely this is a name that you should keep in mind! The second prizes is shared by Belén Orig Martínez and Rocío Pérez Rodríguez.

The harpist Valentina Casades Lapiedra was awarded the first prize and Olga Benito Ramirez won the second prize. Both demonstrated a very successful technique and great musicality.
